Rescuer Jumped Into Ice-Cold Waves to Save This Seal

Visiting rescuer Adam is helping out at OCN again - and not afraid of getting wet!
Navigating slippery rocks and diving straight into the icy Atlantic Ocean, Adam and Antoine go after a seal that may or may not have been rescued before. These recaptures can be hard to identify until you’re up close.
What they find around the seal’s neck is almost invisible: a thin, transparent plastic wrapping, strong enough to leave a mark, but so flimsy it’s nearly impossible to see from a distance. That’s exactly what makes this kind of pollution so dangerous. It’s small, soft, subtle, but deadly.
Thanks to teamwork and persistence, this seal was released and given another chance. And we loved having Adam, a seal rescuer from the U.S. living in Australia, join us for this cross-continental collaboration.
Let’s all keep pushing for a world where plastic like this never ends up in the ocean in the first place.
