The first of the basic strikes in lightsaber combat: Sai.
Sai strikes are powerful techniques that are intended to go through large targets. On droids and other bipeds, this is the torso.
The two marks of contact that correspond to sai are "sai tok" and "sai cha". Sai tok cuts the target in half, either diagonally or horizontally. Sai cha refers to beheading the target and can be considered a refinement or specialization of sai tok.
The acceleration exercise is called "Trace the Ribbon" or "Honor sash" in that it is a powerful cut that goes from either zone 3-5 or 2-6, resembling a sash worn for prestige.
