This month’s speaker is Renald Fortier. Renald is curator emeritus at the Canada Aviation and Space Museum, in Ottawa. He worked in a variety of projects (acquisitions, exhibitions, interviews, presentations, publications, etc.) at that national museum, mainly as a curator, between 1987 and 2021. Notably the museum contains a full size replica of the AEA Silver Dart and the Curtiss HS-2L Flying Boat La Vigilance. In this lecture, Renald will be shining a light on the influential and often forgotten history of the flying boats of the WW1 and early interwar eras, the Curtiss H series and the Felixstowe F series.
