On today's podcast, Dan Friedell and Dan Novak host the show. Dan Friedell tells listeners what they will hear.
First, Bryan Lynn has a story about flooding in eastern Libya which has left 10,000 people missing in a coastal city. Then, Caty Weaver has a story by Hai Do about the U.S. Justice Department's antitrust case against Google. The U.S. government says Google uses its strong market position to unfairly limit competition in the internet search market. The case is similar to one brought in 1998 against Microsoft.
Then, on the Education Report, Dan Novak has a report on concerns that students remain far behind in math learning even after normal schooling resumed after in-person classes were suspended during the COVID-19 pandemic. A national survey shows that math scores are at their lowest level in 20 years.
Then Dan and Dan discuss the report why math scores are especially suffering. They find that hands-on teaching is needed to learn math well. Next is a promotional message for Let's Learn English with Anna, a children's English teaching show.
Then, on Lesson of the Day, Caty and Mario Ritter, Jr. review ideas of symptoms and reactions in a story about a woman who had brain surgery in which doctors discovered a parasitic worm. Dan Friedell read the story. Then, Dan Novak and Dan Friedell sign off.
