NS 303, the daily manifest between Fort Wayne and Elkhart, IN is coming off the Chicago District through the connection at Claypool, IN and onto the Marion Branch. Lead today by BNSF 7256, an ES44DC, also has NS SD70ACe 1162 and SD40-2 3243 which is the former Southern unit with the same number in the head locomotive consist. Cut in behind the 107th car is distributed power unit BNSF 7279, another ES44DC. Today’s train has a total of 141 cars.
For those inquiring minds that want to know, the speed limit through the connection is 25 mph.
I lucked out as the morning hours this day were partly sunny, a refreshing break from the many cloudy, gray days I seem to be catching when I head out to film.
