On Thanksgiving Day, I visited the Tesla Diner in Hollywood — a retro-futuristic diner, Supercharger hub, and drive-in experience all wrapped into one. This video is a four-minute ambient tour: no talking, no commentary, just the real sounds of the diner and the surrounding Supercharger as you walk through the space with me.
Tesla’s Hollywood diner sits at 7001 Santa Monica Boulevard on historic Route 66 in Los Angeles, California, combining a stainless-steel, flying-saucer–inspired building with one of the largest urban EV charging hubs in the world. The two-story structure was designed with a bold mix of 1950s-style diner nostalgia and futuristic sci-fi touches. Inside, you’ll find circular booths, a long counter, upper-level seating, and even glass display cases containing several Optimus humanoid robot models — including Bumblebee, a Gen 1, and a Gen 2 prototype.
Outside, the stainless exterior glows under neon lighting at night, surrounded by rows of V4 Superchargers and solar-panel canopies. Screens mounted outside turn the parking / charging area into a kind of urban drive-in theater.
Because I visited on Thanksgiving — a quieter day — the crowds were light. That meant fewer cars and people, fewer distractions, and more space to really take in the architecture, layout, and ambient atmosphere: the hum of charging stalls, footsteps echoing in curved hallways, neon reflections on stainless steel — all captured exactly as I experienced them.
In this video, you’ll see:
• Wide-angle street views of the diner and its Supercharger lot
• The flying-saucer profile of the building and its retro-futuristic design touches
• Solar canopies, V4 Supercharger towers, and EVs parked for charging
• Interior dining room, counter, booths, lighting, and staircase
• Glass cases on the stairwell containing multiple Optimus robot models (Bumblebee, Gen 1, Gen 2) on display
• Digital menus inside the diner and the in-car menu visible on a Tesla screen
• People relaxing, charging cars, eating, and watching the big screens from their vehicles or rooftop seats
• Natural ambient audio from every clip — no music, no narration, no commentary
While this isn’t a food review channel, we did try some of the diner’s offerings during our visit — a burger, spicy chicken sandwich, fries, and a chocolate shake. Everything was genuinely delicious! Classic diner comfort food with a modern twist.
From a design and futurism perspective, the Tesla Diner feels like a prototype for the next generation of roadside stops: combining EV infrastructure, dining, entertainment, and even robotics — all in one. If you’re curious about architecture, EV culture, or what the future of road-trip dining might look like, this is a rare look at what that future could be.
