SOA Presents THE HEMPHILLS 1986

Sing Out America presents the final television appearance on SOA of series regulars THE HEMPHILLS! Joel and LaBreeska Hemphill, with their two sons Joey and Trent and their daughter Candy made up one of the greatest family gospel groups of all time! The Hemphills disbanded in 1990 as Joey and Trent went on to found one of the nation's finest tour bus customization companies and Candy to pursue her own highly successful solo career. From 1981 to 1986, The Hemphill family were regulars on "Sing Out America" and in this final taping of the group for our show, The Hemphills showcased why they were among the very best in Southern Gospel Music!

The Hemphills were a renowned Southern Gospel music group known for their rich harmonies and impactful performances. Formed in the 1970s, the group originally consisted of members Claude Hemphill, his wife, and their children. They gained popularity through their heartfelt songs released numerous albums over the decades, blending traditional Southern Gospel with contemporary influences featuring both original compositions and classic hymns.
