Luther Elliss is a “Utah Man” through and through. A former consensus All-American and one of the most dominant defensive football players in University of Utah history, Elliss first arrived in Salt Lake City thanks to a recruiting visit from legendary coach Ron McBride.
“Coach Mac made a lasting impression, and he’s still very much a part of our lives,” Elliss said.
Now 49 years old, Elliss has returned to Utah, this time as a coach mentoring the next generation of defensive linemen. But his story extends far beyond the field. From his years in the NFL to raising a large family and leaning on his faith through life’s ups and downs, Elliss’ journey is one of resilience, transformation, and giving back.
