Let's talk about the Martin Harris "spiritual eyes" claims

An antagonistic source called the CES Letter compiles 4 quotes that talk about Book of Mormon witness Martin Harris only seeing the angel and the golden plates through spiritual eyes. How reliable are these quotes? What does “spiritual eyes” even mean? And, is it a problem? Watch and find out!

Notes:

— The effort to appeal to “spiritual eyes” to explain away the plates as imaginary is further complicated by the very natural experience of the 8 witnesses, who witnessed and held the plates but saw no angel. There was nothing at all supernatural about their experience, and to my knowledge none of them ever claimed to see the plates through “spiritual eyes”.

— Pomeroy Tucker also helped publish the Book of Mormon. He may have gotten his information about Martin Harris and the “spiritual eye” jargon from John Gilbert. If that’s true (I can’t prove it is), then Gilbert would be responsible for 3 out of the 4 “spiritual eyes” references mentioned in the CES Letter.
