2020 & 2021 Were tough Years. A harsh lesson in life happens to all of us when we get into the "Golden Years". Time is short, spend time and appreciate all those in your world who you love and help make your world a better place.
BUT This is a saw channel! No drama & politics here so back to work! And a look back into the past a bit, a reflection moment for me, hopefully a "Vintage Saw" appreciation moment for you. :)
Ash Tree Felling With A "Too Short Bar", Not enough to bore cut properly, but I've done this for decades now. So while NOT a recommended approach, it works for me.
Did a close up and slow motion on a tree where I tried to side step the bore cutting from the side because of the short bar and my certainty I wouldn't get cut from both side s to meet and you can see why spending the time to get the hinges right matters....especially for "money" tree's
Spend an afternoon in the woods. Just think, 40 years ago when the woods were full of sounds from McCulloch's and Homelites, somewhere in Sweden these L77's were the norm.
I think these were during the "hayday" of Husqvarna Motocross race bike design. Piston port designs were the norm for those dirt bikes, Husqvarna obviously shared technology with the saw designs. Not sure if ANY other chainsaw builders of the period had piston port , vertical cylinder designs back in the 1960's & early 1970's. Most had case reed or reed valves in the mix somewhere.
