While out getting Amtrak at the Michigan City coaling tower I decided to swing back around to Hesston and film some of their narrow gauge steam in action. On this day both their Porter 2-6-0 and Three Truck Shay were out and about handling trains along with the usual miniature trains.
Hesston is VERY underrated when it comes to their railroading equipment and one of the few places where you can find 2 foot, 3 foot and standard gauge equipment all on site as well. The place is a working museum with several projects all being undertaken at once.
Note the burned down blacksmith shop shown in the video. This was a very recent fire that fortunately saw no injuries. A new one will be constructed.
