These buns can freeze very well up to 3 months. They taste very nice and can be eaten for lunch with salad on the side. Try out this How to make Meat buns recipe and enjoy.
I was inspired by this recipe from Fauzia’s Kitchen Fun and made adjustments.
INGREDIENTS FOR BUN FILLING
cooked shredded meat
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
2 tbsp butter
1 tsp coarsely crushed cumin powder
1/2 tsp garam Masala
handful chopped coriander leaves
1 green chilli finely chopped
1 tbsp lemon juice
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 sweet pepper chopped
1 onion finely chopped
DOUGH INGREDIENTS:
3 cups All purpose flour
3/4 tsp instant yeast
1/4 tsp baking powder
11/2 tbsp salt
1 tbsp sugar
4 tbsp oil
1 tbsp butter
3/4 cup warm water and milk
Notes:
There are 3 steps to do these Buns.
STEP 1
Boil the meat by adding 1 tbsp oil, 1 tsp each ginger and garlic paste, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp ground Black Pepper, when cooked let it cool then shredd. This can be done a day before.
I used my INSTANT POT electric pressure cooker to boil the meat, you can make it on the stove pressure cooker (in the description is shredded meat video link which can be used also).
STEP 2
Make the dough and let it rise for 45 mins or until double in size
STEP 3
Fill the buns, brush with egg wash and bake at 350F for 20 mins or until golden brown
