Kiss - Forever Drum Cover

My drum cover of Forever by Kiss.

So I did not set out to do a Valentine's Day cover, but it was just by coincidence that I played and uploaded this tune on Valentine's Day Weekend (2021). Really, the main reason I did this one is because I love the tune and too, I recently was reintroduced to it by hearing it somewhere for the first time in a long time. And when I heard it, it struck me that man, what a great song and what a cool song to cover on the drums! So I did. It was only until later that I realized that this is so perfect for Valentine's Day, lol.

Forever is a power ballad and was the second single from Kiss' 1989 Made In The Shade album that peaked at #8 on Billboard--their highest chart hit since 1979's I Was Made For Lovin' You (#11). And what is surprising to note about this tune is that it was co-written with Michael Bolton--you know, the crooner of that song "How Am I Supposed To Live Without You" (which I dig) and other soft rock tunes. So naturally this is kind of no big surprise being the type of tune it is. But it's a great f*ckin' song! Love the acoustic guitar licks of Paul Stanley, the understated bass playing of Gene Simmons, the amazing, lovely guitar solo from Bruce Kulick in the middle and of course, the monster playing of the late, great Eric Carr. A lot of great fills (very triplet based) and heavy hits, which I love!

And so here it is. Really glad I got to play around with this one as it is such an amazing tune that I still love all these years! I also want to dedicate this cover to my friend/co-worker John and his lovely wife Marci as they had this song as part of their wedding day so long ago. Hope you guys dig it!
