God's Trees with Professor Julian Evans OBE

God’s Trees is a presentation based around Julian’s coffee-table book, God’s Trees - trees, forests and wood in the Bible (DayOne), which takes seven contrasting cameos on the theme. They look at scripture from a fresh angle and address some difficult verses, but above all they affirm the absolute reliability of what we read in the Bible and  seek to honour the Lord Jesus Christ.

Included is the story of Zacchaeus, the puzzle of the bitter waters of Mara, and what was the wood of the Cross. The presentation lasts about 45 minutes.

Professor Julian Evans OBE is a forest scientist who became a Christian in his early 20s. He has written or been principal editor of 16 books, mainly on forestry, and was chair of the Forestry Commission’s Expert Committee on Forest Science 2013-19. He was appointed Forestry Commissioner in 2020.  For many years he was in the leadership team of his church in Alton and was a non-executive director of Tearfund for 16 years. He is married with three grown up sons and three granddaughters.
