Hello, friends and welcome back to WBR's Reactions series, where we discuss tiktok viral videos regarding diet culture, health, the obesity epidemic, fatphobia, body positivity, fad diets and more.
Today we are going over the MOST insane diets on Tik Tok with a reaction video discussing an extreme diet called OMAD or one meal a day. This is a fasting method, that if done properly can have results. However, we watch a What I Eat in A Day Tiktok video of an individual who doesn't seem like she will be seeing results. She is doing a calorie count consuming all of her calories for the day in one sitting -- however doesn't take into account the quality, or lack there of, for her intake. She also does not realize glucose will in fact break a fast. And therefore her OMAD is not being carried out properly due to consuming mountain dew beverages.
We also take a look at a an extreme weight loss pod cast clip from TikTok of a woman detailing how she lost 70 pounds in 60 days! She states she did a 30 day liquid diet.
We always take a balanced approach when looking and reacting to these videos. So there are some good points we discuss as well as some flawed views. We particularly discuss why fad diets and extreme diets often times don't work. This is a good example of why crazy fad diet plans can or can not lead to extreme weight loss.
I hope to open up the conversation around extreme ends of health. From frail thin influencers, extremely fit/food obsessed accounts and those promoting morbid obesity and b!nge eating. My aim in doing so is - well... growth - either for you, for a friend, a family member - or myself. Anyone who may be currently struggling with building HEALTHY sustainable habits that will ultimately take something away from these discussions.
Our motto is always, to practice BALANCE and NOT Extremes.
