This is the first of ten videos in a series meant to demonstrate the basics of wet plate photography. Following all the way through should teach you everything you need to outfit yourself and start making your first tintype photos.
In this introductory video, I talk a little bit about what wet plate photography is, the different types of wet plate photographs, and give a brief overview of the process. As the series progresses, I'll cover the safety precautions you should take when working with wet plate, the equipment and chemistry you'll need, and finally demonstrate the process itself along with some basic maintenance procedures.
