This is the second of ten videos in a series meant to demonstrate the basics of wet plate photography. Following all the way through should teach you everything you need to outfit yourself and start making your first tintype photos.
In this installment, I go over the basic safety equipment you'll want to have on hand when making wet plate photos, and detail the safety precautions you should take with each of the main chemicals involved in the process. This doesn't have to be a scary process, but it can be if you're not careful! By taking the appropriate precautions and using some basic protective equipment, you can avoid wet plate accidents that could cause damage to your equipment, your surroundings, or worst of all, yourself.
