We spent one night at the Lake Land Hotel Mizunosato in Fujikawaguchiko. Definitely one of the highlights of our Japan trip and I recommend splurging a little to do 1 or 2 nights at a ryokan in the district.
After taking the Shinkansen (bullet train), we arrived at the train station where our hotel offered a free shuttle pick up to the hotel. They offer both pick up and drop off to the main train station, Kawaguchiko Station.
We got the BEST food served to us at our kaiseki dinner. The nice old lady just kept coming out with more food, one after the other so our bellies were very full. NOTHING tasted bad! Everything was very good. Breakfast was also delicious and came with a shorter menu than dinner :)
There was a free rooftop viewing area that was available to all guests! We were so lucky the sky cleared up in the morning, so we decided to put on our yukata and take some cool pictures of Mt. Fuji in the background.
Very relaxing stay and I would look into booking the same stay or similar stay in the area the next time I visit :)
