Elsie (Pat Phoenix) is missing Grandson Paul (Nigel Greaves) already. Maggie (Irene Sutcliffe) tells a relieved Lucille (Jennifer Moss) that she didn’t grass her up to the warehouse about the forged reference. Emily (Eileen Derbyshire) and Ernie (Stephen Hancock) clash over the prospect of living in his parent’s old house. Jerry (Graham Haberfield) decides to name his boat the "Shangri-La" and meets Freddie Baxter (Wilfred Carter) the secretary of the Weatherfield Sailing Club. Jerry is annoyed by Baxter's attitude towards his boat and he plans to talk to the sea cadets himself. Emily refuses to live in Ernie's family home when they are wed.
