Jerry (Graham Haberfield) boat gains the interest of Lieutenant Arthur Sugden (David Brierley). Emily (Eileen Derbyshire) and Ernie (Stephen Hancock) continue to disagree about living in his family home. Annie (Doris Speed) offers Emily her old room at the Rovers to get married from. Jerry is furious with Ray (Neville Buswell) for completing the boat behind his back. After a chat with Maggie (Irene Sutcliffe) and Minnie (Margot Bryant) Ernie decides to sell his family home for Emily's sake. Alan (Alan Browning), Elsie (Pat Phoenix), Jerry, Ray, Hilda (Jean Alexander), Lucille (Jennifer Moss) and Ken (Bill Roache) gather to formally christen Jerry's boat, "Shangri-La," with ale. Jerry plans to set sail the next day.
