Maggie (Irene Sutcliffe) is thrown when Irma (Sandra Gough) writes from Llandudno and demands the money from her share of the shop as quickly as possible. Ena (Violet Carson) is under scrutiny from the police and the committee for the theft of the colour TV by leaving the centre door open. Cyril (William Moore) suddenly reappears on screen after almost 2 years and is frustrated by Betty’s (Betty Driver) shifts at the Rovers, At a committee meeting in the Rovers, Len (Peter Adamson), Alf (Bryan Mosley), Ernie (Stephen Hancock) and Emily (Eileen Derbyshire) discuss Ena's future as caretaker. Maggie considers buying Irma out of the shop. Cyril suggests he buys Irma’s share of the shop for Betty, but when Alf relays the same idea to Maggie she is horrified by the prospect.
