Nocturnal Enchantment (Unknown) — Sorcery — 2025 full length

The third creation of Nocturnal Enchantment does not merely continue the path carved by its predecessors, but it extinguishes any lingering softness, grinding the very essence of its sound into a dissonant relic of pure ungoverned force. Where previous records smouldered in sulphurous cosmic translucence, “Sorcery” erupts as the naked core of that journey, a vortex of abrasive incantation, stripped of ornament, shorn of comfort, and wholly surrendered to the dominion of chaos.

The record advances as a storm without horizon, drumming that rains down in sterile merciless sheets, tightening the air into a suffocating chamber. The guitars, wrapped in grain and static, throb as murmured curses beneath the tumult, barely harmonious, half-swallowed by a fog of tape hiss, yet imbued with an ascetic devotion to darkness. Any hints of past ambient textures survive only as fragmented interferences from some collapsing astral conduit.

The result is a soundscape both claustrophobic and strangely ceremonial, as though each note was an invocation chiselled from obsidian, meant not to elevate but to bury the listener beneath its weight. Any semblance of transcendence is crushed beneath the pulse of unholy entropy, even the vocals hover as a malediction opened by the sheer violence of this record.

This is Nocturnal Enchantment at their most distilled and unforgiving stage, a culmination of their increasing withdrawal from melody and light, as a monolith of disorder, a ritual of dissolution where only darkness remains.
