Aine's water broke about 12.30 am May 17, 2024. This was 12 days before her due date, and Aine had developed "ventral edema", which generally indicates a large foal. At first, everything was progressing normally. Foal initially presented properly, but then things changed. Foal's chin somehow ends up pointing to the sky while her front legs turned the other way. I dropped the phone, sorted things out, and filly was delivered about 11 minutes from water breaking. I am very glad I was there.
