During this final Human Rights Network meeting of 2025, we explore:
Queensland Mental Health Commission’s (QMHC) Trauma Strategy 2024-2025 and research from Emerging Minds National Workforce Centre for Children’s Mental Health
The Queensland Trauma Strategy sets out a whole-of-government, whole-of-community approach to embedding trauma-informed practice across Queensland; and
Emerging Minds shares research and practical tools exploring the innovative and engaging practices that helped children make sense of their trauma stories in supportive and healing ways.
About the QCOSS Human Rights Network:
The QCOSS Human Rights Network is a community services sector network for those deepening their capacity to understand human rights and apply this to their work.
It provides an opportunity to share experiences, information and resources on human rights and social justice matters within the sector, as well as identifying common issues to inform advocacy and submissions. Meetings offer guest speakers and discussion on a range of topics, while access to peers and subject matter experts provides a wealth of knowledge and experience to draw on for everyday support.
In discussing how we can use the Human Rights Act in delivering our services, we’ll increase the human rights literacy and capability of our sector to help build a more rights-respecting culture.
