As we were diving for golden trevally, otherwise known as paopao, we managed to find a small school of good sized bigfin reef squid. these squid are a rare shallow species of squid here in Hawaii, and I'll never pass an opportunity to take one home. in all my years of diving, this is the first time I've ever seen one. a hammerhead also passed to check me out, nothing aggressive, but when it's murky, sharks act differently.
