How To Make The Perfect Kiwi Sour

Today on Booze On The Rocks I show you How To Make The Perfect Kiwi Sour. Or maybe better put Imperfectly made, but perfectly tasty. I messed up the steps but, It still works showing you how versatile the sour is.

The first known written recipe for the sour appears in Jerry Thomas's 1862 boot the Bartenders Guide. For this modern cocktail I used the Kiwi fruit AKA the Chinese Gooseberry. Its well balanced and super easy to drink.

KIWI SOUR

2 oz/60 ml rum
1 Kiwi
.5 oz/15 ml Simple Syrup
.75 oz/22.5 ml Lemon Juice
1 egg white
3 drops angostura bitters

METHOD

1. Add all ingredients into the mixing glass except bitters.
2. Shake with ice for 10 seconds.
3. Strain out ice and shake again for 10 seconds.
3. Pour into a rocks glass with one ice cube.
4. Garnish with 3 drops of bitters and a kiwi slice
