The hallmark of a functional library is consistency. However, this is complicated by the dozens, if not hundreds, of style formats available. Every primitive has properties that drive the style of the component. For example, the pin primitive is driven by properties such as length, name, designator, etc., along with their individual properties such as font, size, visibility, and location. Maintaining consistency is even more frustrating when two or more people are involved.
Nine Dot Connects maintains libraries and creates components for companies in many different industries. Since no two customers have the same style, we developed a clear and consistent customizable guide that is the foundation for our restoration and library services, as well as our ‘marching orders’ thereafter.
Allow us to share our secrets.
This video will cover the hows and whys of the document and wiil be presented by Erich Gross, who developed and refined the style guide through feedback and customer experience and feedback.
If you’re looking to break the spell, this video will provide you with a foundation to pull together a robust style guide for your libraries going forward.
