In this chapter, our holiday plans go completely to put the window. An ice storm shuts down everything, and forced Derek’s family to come celebrate the holidays in a house with no power, no heat, and no way to cook Christmas dinner. To top it all off, we experience “shark week” with Esther, for the very first time. Did you lady pigs get a monthly visitor? Neither did we, and we were not prepared for it! It was the Christmas that nearly killed us.
Please note: This chapter is PG13 due to language.
Please also note: We had some serious family struggles during this period. While things didn’t go to plan during the visit outlined in this chapter, the following year the very same family members made a fully “Esther Approved” dinner, and love Esther (almost) as much as we do. ❤️😉
