This Scapular Stabilisation Exercise is named "Shoulder Clock Exercise" because as you rotate your palm on the swiss ball your fingers turn to point in different directions resembling a clock arm on a clock dial.

This shoulder clock exercise is great for achieving excellent scapular control and muscle balance around the shoulder girdle. You often lose proper scapular control after experiencing a period of shoulder pain.

It is particularly great for an athlete who is rehabing to get back into sport after an injury or shoulder surgery.

These are the muscles you target with this exercise:

rotator cuff muscles
scapula stabilisers (serratus anterior, rhomboids, mid and lower trapezius)
deltoid muscle

As usual discontinue the exercise immediately if you experience any sharp pain while attempting this shoulder clock exercise.

You can do this scapular stabilisation exercise in 3 easy steps:

1. Stand with a swiss ball up against the wall with your
hand supporting the ball just below the centre

2. Lean forward and place some of your body weight
onto the swiss ball

3. Slowly turn your palm clockwise and then anti-
clockwise as far as you feel comfortable while keeping
some bodyweight forward on the swiss ball
