Basic Motor Specs:
Power: 1 HP (approx. 0.75 kW)
Phases: 3 Phase
RPM: 1400 (indicates 4 poles)
Slots: 36
Frequency: 50 Hz
Voltage: 415V (typical for 3-phase motors)
Connection Details:
Star (Y) Connection: Used for reduced voltage starting and lower starting current.
Delta (Δ) Connection: Used for full voltage operation, providing higher torque.
Winding Procedure (Step-by-Step)
Mark all 36 slots and label them from 1 to 36.
Use enameled copper wire of proper gauge (typically 22–26 SWG for 1 HP).
Insert coils in double-layer format:
Coil 1: Top of Slot 1 → Bottom of Slot 9
Coil 2: Top of Slot 3 → Bottom of Slot 11
Continue until all coils are inserted.
Form 3 separate phase groups (U, V, W), each spaced 120° electrically
Join corresponding start or end wires according to star or delta diagram.
Insulate all joints properly and varnish the winding after testing.
