Monday at the farm

WARNING: Maybe don’t read or watch whilst eating, there’s some talk of poop today!

We get a lot of questions about all kinds of things at the farm. But one of the most popular questions over the years, by far, has been around the topic of poo. Yes, you certainly read it right. And the biggest curiosity around this topic, is who picks it up?

Well we do, the humans. Luke is chief pooper scooper. We pick it up with doggy poo bags as soon as we see it (usually peak hour is straight off the bus in the morning) and dispose of it in special bins and then a separate rubbish truck service comes and collects it each week.

We know a lot about doggy doo, I can confidently say. We’ve surely seen it all.

I can disclose that there are actually some exceptions to the ‘humans pick up the poop’ rule. A small number of doggies like to help us out with this important job during peak hour. Some like to do a quick and natural clean up, especially if they haven’t eaten breakfast. And whilst this might sound a little icky, it does disappear in a quick and tidy manner.

But. Then there are those that like to draw out the experience for everyone by rolling in it or even sliding right through it. It’s usually a very special kind of sample that they have found and they simply want to share it with us all, parading it around so everyone gets a sniff and for those extra special humans, usually Aunty Sam, a rub against the legs so they can enjoy the doggy Chanel too.

We decided to share today’s experience with you, we all had a bit of fun with it (including Adam, don’t worry!) ... because ... it is a big part of life at the farm! But usually kept to more behind the scenes, so we all had a laugh, and we hope you can see the funny side of it too.

Laughs all round for us today, with Bandit and the Vizslas Frankie and Sparty in the heated pool. The favourite toy today was the red squeaky ball. Each of them has a role to play in this funny afternoon game and they all love the fact that each one of them sticks to their part in the comedy. Bandit is continually trying to get his beloved ball back. Whilst Franky and Sparty take it in turns pinching it right from under his nose. Coming in from the left, the right, above, below ... always keeping Bandit guessing.
