AHRC Talks is an initiative of the Ateneo Human Rights Center which aims for viewers to see human rights in a new light. It is designed to expand the human rights discourse by transforming traditional human rights topics, such as civil, political, economic, social, cultural rights and human rights education, into something more practical and contemporary.
The emergence of new media technology has also paved the way for individuals of all walks of life to create their own contents to influence netizens in what we call the online space. However, it is also the same mobility and convenience of the internet that have given birth to influencers who weaponize the internet to proliferate false and misinformation that serve greedy political agendas.
In this episode, let's try to analyze the power of social media to influence people and the value of being a responsible netizen and online influencer. Miss Trans Global 2020 and social media influencer, Miss Mela Habijan will share with us her best practices as a responsible content creator.
