Roy Strom 057: Mack LEU Split Chagnon Rear Loader Garbage Truck

This is a pretty bittersweet video for me, as I have finally gotten to film one of these Canadian rear loaders on the Thursday route, where Roy Strom had once piloted using recycling carts. Unfortunately, this also happened to be the very last day that these splits would ever collect the carted recycling because with Lakeshore now taking over, they are going to try out front loads doing recycling. Not to worry, as the other three days that this city is collected are still 100% manual but only time will tell how much longer that will last. I’ve been doing my best to get footage of Strom’s splits stockpiled, as they are some of my favorites and just very unique in general. Some of you guys may recognize the helper too, he was featured in my video of the WXLL Split G&H and I’ve filmed him multiple times in the EZ Pack Curotto. He’s always fun to watch, and just a great guy overall. In the video he also said “You know Roy Strom is the best company around. We’re legends around here, don’t forget” and I don’t think that could be any more true. I hope you all enjoy the video, or as the helper dubbed it “The Last Day of Rear Load Recycling Collection in Villa Park!”
