WARNING: Do your own research on your specific Prius model and proceed at your own risk.
Toyota Prius models (especially 2nd generation) require R134a refrigerant with ND-11 or polyolester (POE) oil.
Most common R134a products contain PAG oil, which is NOT compatible and can damage your AC system.
I couldn't find the specific one, so I used pure R134a without any oil additives in this video to avoid introducing the wrong type of oil.
Always consult your vehicle's specifications or a qualified mechanic for the most accurate information.
My Toyota Prius AC is blowing hot air.
Refill R134a refrigerant on Toyota Prius for cold air.
Please make sure to wear gloves and glasses. Also, stop immediately if the pressure gauge shows red when you connect it to lower line.
Before you do please check if AC compressor is working or not.
Toyota Prius let you check if you are out of refrigerant right through small hole next to the Higher line.
Steps:
Locate lower line.
Turn on Ac and fan to the max.
Connect hose to lower line and shake the refrigerant can.
Fill it till it shows upto green on the pressure gauge.
Finally enjoy cold air from the AC.
