Bellydance Veil for Emotional Performance

There are beautiful pieces of Middle Eastern music available to help you develop skills with chiffon or silk veils. Most people pitch their veil early in a piece, but sometimes there is music that is so emotional, you may want to consider the entire piece as one long story, and the veil as the prop that helps keep an emotional intensity to it. I ran into this music last year and have been dying to choreograph it. It's sadness has a quality to it that is often so beautiful, it's hard to look upon it for long.
Veil flight has a certain organic feel to it. Depending on the speed of the veil (caused by your spinning speed or your arm movement), you achieve different effects. While I'm practicing with a heavy chiffon veil in this video, I'll actually be performing it with a light silk veil in black and red, giving it a feel of the deep colors of the setting sun as the day fades into night.
In this practice, I've left out some critical moves (sandstorm, and the Triple Wrap and reverse combo), because these are signature moves that I often leave for other performances in-the-moment.
