Krewe of Tucks Parade - Mardi Gras New Orleans 2025 (4K)

​The Krewe of Tucks, renowned for its irreverent humor and satirical themes, celebrated its 56th annual parade on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at noon. Originating in 1969 by a group of Loyola University students, Tucks has evolved from a modest nighttime procession of pickup trucks into a major daytime spectacle. This year's theme, "Tucks Loves a Great Pair," showcased the krewe's signature playful spirit.

Known for its satirical floats and toilet-themed humor, Tucks delighted spectators with iconic floats like the giant toilet bowl and the King's Throne. The krewe's throws were equally unique, featuring hand-decorated toilet brushes, plungers, and even rolls of toilet paper—a long-standing tradition that transforms the parade route into a spectacle of flying TP. As the parade rolls down Napoleon and St. Charles Avenues, toilet paper drapes over the live oak trees, leaving a hilarious, paper-covered landscape in its wake. The sight of trees wrapped in white streamers has become one of the most distinctive and beloved post-parade visuals in all of Mardi Gras.

One of the most hilarious and sought-after throws is the poop emoji plush dog toy, a fan-favorite that perfectly captures Tucks’ irreverent spirit. Whether caught by a lucky parade-goer or snatched up by an excited pup, the flying plush poop emoji is a Mardi Gras highlight! 🚽💩🎭

The parade followed the traditional uptown route commening at the intersection of Napoleon Avenue and Tchoupitoulas Street, proceeding north to St. Charles Avenue. It then followed St. Charles Avenue to Harmony Circle, looped around, and continued on St. Charles northward to Canal Street. At Canal, the parade turned east, proceeded to Tchoupitoulas, then turned south, concluding at Tchoupitoulas and Poydras.
