Decorating Valentines Cupcakes

Cupcakes with just a little extra. Put a ring on it! My first real time decorating cupcakes. You can laugh at me, but please do not be too ugly.

Buttercream Recipe:
2 sticks butter (227 grams)
pinch of salt (1/4 teaspoon)
1 pound confectioners sugar (454 grams)
1 Tablespoon vanilla extract
8 Tablespoons heavy cream or milk (1/2 cup)

This recipe will be enough for 10 to 12 cupcakes when using this much frosting on the cupcakes.

I tried one time a few years ago to pipe frosting and it never worked. This time I wasn't going to give up.

I ended up using a bit more frosting on the cupcakes to cover the bottoms of the candy Ring Pops. I apologize for not showing that.

I used a regular cake mix for the cupcakes... you can use any you like.

To make a cake mix taste better follow the cake box recipe but add:
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 Tablespoons sour cream
2 Tablespoons mayonnaise

Bake per box instructions!

Much better!

The silver shimmer spray works better if you allow the icing to set up with a bit of a crust.
