This is the UP Big Boy #4014 heading west towards Ogden. This stretch is just east of Sherman Hill approaching Hermosa Tunnel about halfway between Cheyenne and Laramie WY. This engine was rebuilt over the course of 5 years in Cheyenne after sitting in a museum for around 44 years or so.
Sorry for the wind noise and the terrible quality in the first part of this video, I had trouble w camera shake and the noise reduction and image stabilization for a little bit. It's regrettable but this was a special day.
