Government has so far lost 1.8 trillion shillings to individuals who fraudulently repossessed the assets of Asian’s who were compensated for loss of property when former President Idi Amin expelled them from the country in 1972. Documents presented to parliament’s Committee on Commissions Statutory Authorities and State Enterprises implicate senior government officials and businessmen. Officials of the Departed Asian Property Custodian Board who appeared before the committee confirmed the evidence.
