Johann Georg Pascha was a 16th century German fencing master. He wrote different books on many subject as unarmed wrestling for self-defense and military arms such as rapier, pike, partisan, musket but also weaving the flag or vaulting on a wooden horse.
The famous one is the Jaegerstock (Hunter staff), a two headed spear, the half pike (halbe Pique or halbe Pike), which is in France called the bâton à deux bouts. Those drills were used for the partisan and probably for the halberd as well. But Paschen created some special exercises for the Pertuisan as he called it.
We did HEMA but the drills are pure gold for reenactment as well and probably also for Buhurt training where Polearms were used a lot. As the drills use many turns and fighting multiple opponents.
Kung Fu has its Forms, Karate its Kata and also HEMA has some drills from the Renaissance or medieval period.
Pascha from Dresden did a great magnum opus to safe us drills for various weapon which soldiers and mercenaries used in war.
