This video contains two matches I had with the recently buffed LV2 Jegan D-Type on Gundam Battle Operation 2. It is a 500-550 cost general with good mobility, good midrange DPS options, decent melee damage and easy to use stagger accumulation. Its weaknesses include below average walking speed at 500 cost, not having the same melee burst damage as other generals as well as having somewhat short range. This suit was recently buffed with +5 thrust at 500 cost, +3 turning speed at 550 cost, +7 melee modifier at 500 cost, +13 melee modifier at 550 cost, LV2 Emergency Evasion, better shield missile launcher damage, 8 seconds shield missile launcher reload speed and 35%x2 shield missile launcher stagger value. These buffs make the suit feel brand new to me, it is an all rounder that can fulfil the role of a frontliner, midranger or something in between depending on your playstyle and custom parts selection. I hope that you enjoy watching!
The Jegan D Type can choose between a beam rifle or bazooka as its primary weapon. Its bazooka at LV2 has 2415 power, 5 ammo, 6.5 seconds cooldown, 18 seconds reload, 1.75 seconds swap speed, 305m range and 80% stagger value. The beam rifle has 1890 power, 6 ammo, 5.5 seconds cooldown, 17 seconds reload, 0.77 seconds swap speed, 355m range and 10% stagger value. These are both valid and viable options in my opinion, one isn't strictly better than the other. The bazooka is better for midranger playstyles overall thanks to its high ballistic damage and good stagger accumulation. The beam rifle is still pretty good for midranging. It loses out on damage but cools down faster and the swap speed allows you to combo a stun after using your shield missiles to close the distance.
Its primary melee weapon is a beam saber with 2100 power, 2.5 seconds cooldown, 0.77 seconds swap speed and standard melee modifiers. This saber has mediocre power but, thanks to the D Type having 55 melee modifier at LV2, it can hit harder than you may expect, especially with custom parts investment.
Its first sub weapon is a vulcan pod with 94 power, 60 ammo, 450 RPM, 10 seconds reload, 0.5 seconds cooldown, 180m range, 705 DPS and 4% stagger value. These have decent DPS but take 3.3 seconds to stagger on their own, so they aren't worth using unless all your other weapons are unavailable or if you need to finish off a low HP enemy.
Its second sub weapon is a waist mounted grenade launcher with 840 power, 3 ammo, 15 seconds reload, 0.33 seconds swap, 250m range and 35% stagger value. These can stagger on their own but stopping to fire makes this difficult, so they are best used as a damage dump off of your own stuns or after set-up from allies.
Its third sub weapon is a shield missile launcher with 700x2 power, 4 ammo, 8 seconds reload, 0.5 seconds swap, 300m range and 35%x2 stagger value. These fire two missiles at a time unlike the original Jegan, which makes all 4 missiles fire out much faster overall, which also makes them easier to use to stagger enemies with. These can break through LV1 Damage Control or LV2 Maneuver Armor on their own.
The LV2 Jegan D Type has 18500 HP, 19 ballistic resist, 23 beam resist and 18 melee resist. It actually has pretty solid durability, not super tanky or anything but it definitely isn't squishy. It has LV2 Emergency Evasion for its defensive skill. Unlike the original Jegan, it also has LV1 Anti-Blast Stabilizer, which makes you immune to staggers from nearby exploding MS.
In terms of mobility it has 130 walk speed, 220 boost speed, 65 thrust and 69 turning speed. Its mobility is really high at 550 cost, only really second to GP01 FB when it comes to generals. It has LV2 Forced Injector and LV2 Flight Control, but only LV1 Forced Injector at 500 cost. It also gets 125 walking speed at 500 cost.
In conclusion, I feel like these buffs have finally put Jegan D Type back on the menu. It is hard to find fault with it, especially at LV2 where its slight mobility issues are fully rectified. As I wrote before, the only real downside is below average melee damage, but I have been hitting raids for over 6000 damage in a neutral downswing combo before when I built melee modifier, so your mileage may vary. It is a real all rounder general that can flex to do whatever the team needs, so I can highly recommend it. I would go as far as saying that the original Jegan is obsolete again, no reason to play it at 500-550 cost when you can use this thing. Sadly it needs Ensign 10 rank to be bought from the DP store, otherwise I would recommend it for newbies. Thanks for watching and I hope that you enjoyed it!
