It's often stated that the t-test and ANOVA assume homogeneity of variance. However, these tests are quite robust under a number of conditions. I provide a brief review of some simulation research supporting the application of the t-test and the ANOVA to data which violate the assumption of homogeneity of variance. I also provide some recommendations.
