Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem defended the fatal shooting of a 37-year-old ICU nurse in Minneapolis. She said: "I want to remind everybody that the situation in this tragedy did not have to happen." She added: "This individuals showed up to impede a law enforcement operation and assaulted our officers. They responded according to their training and took action to defend the officer's life and those of the public around him." In bystander videos of the shooting that emerged soon after, Alex Pretti is seen with a phone in his hand but none appears to show him with a visible weapon. Watch.
