Winchester & Western J301 - The South Jersey Sandman

On August 9th, 2023, I took a ride to South Jersey to meet up with my boy Trevor, to head even further south to meet up with local railfan Darius, with intentions of chasing the evening Winchester & Western local, J301. With the Omnitrax takeover of the W&W in full effect, things are different here now. The roster has been slimmed down, as has operations, with runs down the former CNJ rails of the C&M Branch to Unimin only being done twice a week now. Luckily, this hot and humid summer evening would be one of those days for a full C&M Branch run, and their "Cadillac" of a locomotive, W&W SD9M 954 would be part of the consist, led by GP10M 576. We gave a decent chase to this train, catching them at a few spots heading south, and a couple spots heading north before night fell. Enjoy the video!
