What transforms students into community leaders? For 30 years, Syracuse University's Mary Ann Shaw Center for Public and Community Service has been proving that real change happens when students step outside the classroom and into their community.
Founded in 1994 on the powerful principles of community engagement, reciprocal learning and service to others, the Shaw Center has become the university's hub for experiential learning and volunteerism.
On this inspiring "'Cuse Conversation," hear from two generations of Shaw Center volunteers—Derek Wallace '00 and current student Claire Ceccoli '25—as they reveal how giving back to Syracuse nonprofits and organizations didn't just help their community, it completely transformed who they are as leaders.
