STICKY CAULIFLOWER WINGS ✨
Ingredients:
10-12 bite-sized cauliflower florets
1/4 cup plain flour
1 tbsp. nutritional yeast
1 tbsp. garlic powder
1 tbsp. cornstarch
1 tbsp. smoked paprika
3/4 cup plant-based milk
salt to taste
*For the toppings: (optional)
chopped spring onions
sesame seeds
Sauce Ingredients:
2 tbsp. soy sauce
1 tbsp. water
2 tbsp. maple syrup
juice of 1 lemon
1 tsp sriracha hot sauce
1/4 cup tomato ketchup
2 tsp cornstarch
Method
Sprinkle 1 tsp salt on the cauliflower florets and set it aside.
For the Coating:
In a medium-sized bowl, combine the plain flour, garlic powder, cornstarch, nutritional yeast, smoked paprika and plant-based milk. Add 1 tbsp. water and salt to taste. Mix it well.
Dip the cauliflower into the batter and coat with breadcrumbs. Next, place them on a baking sheet and bake it for 25 minutes at 210 degrees Celsius.
Prepare the Sauce:
Combine the soy sauce, water, maple syrup, juice of 1 lemon, sriracha hot sauce, ketchup and cornstarch. Mix it well and set aside.
In a non-stick pan, toast 1 tbsp. sesame seeds for 1-2 minutes or until golden brown (optional). Sauté 4 cloves of diced garlic and pour the sauce mixture into the pan. Stir until the sauce thickens. Add the baked cauliflower florets into the pan and give it a good stir, making sure that they are well coated with the sauce. Transfer in a plate and top it with chopped spring onions and sesame seeds. Serve immediately and enjoy with steamed rice.
