Most guides tell you to remove the shock absorber assembly from the front hub when changing this arm - but I've never understood why this was necessary.
To prove the point, we're going to have a bash at changing this arm (in the rain...) with the bare minimum disassembly - and it went pretty well!
Please note this video covers the forward arm (the longer, wiggly-shapred one, for lack of a better term) - I'll be covering the smaller, straight rearward arm in another video.
We'll also discuss why you shouldn't change your original BMW arms for aftermarket if it's only the rubber bushes that have failed.
Tools needed:
Jack / other lifting gear and axle / jack stands
Basic socketry (16-22mm)
17mm & 18mm spanners
Chisel and hammer
Swear jar (optional)
An impact gun makes removal of the suspension arm bolts a lot easier, but isn't essential.
As always, wear the proper PPE when using power tools etc etc.
