This short video by Ashley Hodson, Sustainable Route, shot in 2007, is historical footage of how we harvest the runoff from the street to passively irrigate street trees shading the street in Tucson, Arizona. Tucson receives about 12 inches (304 mm) of rain in an average year of precipitation.
We've since further evolved these systems and further increased their capacity. And things have really grown!
