Let's face it: if you only play the pieces you love, you’re missing out on one of the fastest ways to improve as a pianist. 🎹 In this video, I’ll explain why playing the pieces you dislike is actually one of the (many) keys to getting better—and how stepping out of your comfort zone will unlock new technical and musical skills.

Many pianists, especially at the intermediate level, tend to choose pieces they enjoy or feel comfortable with. But here’s the reality:
-You’re reinforcing your strengths but not fixing your weaknesses
-Your technique stays the same instead of expanding
-You’re avoiding the pieces that actually challenge and improve you

I too had a tough time playing pieces I did not like (in the beginning), but eventually, one does find the bigger meaning in them, and how they help us overall as pianists and musicians, to get even better at what we do.
