Detroit TIGERS at New York YANKEES 8/1/87 Original NBC Broadcast

Original NBC Game of the Week Broadcast with Vin Scully and Joe Garagiola (missing most of the btm 9th inning) this is the most recent addition to my MLB archives provided from a viewer Chris to our Phenia Film MLB YouTube page /site who previously had this game recorded/digitalized straight off the original Betamax recorded tape converted to a DVD, and was kind enough to send this game off original masters. and now added to the archives. this game was also recently restored /remastered with some frame rate and slight color/contrast corrections and now making its Youtube debut (other than bits n pieces of this NBC game of the week I've seen on YouTube
Starting pitchers Frank Tanana for Detroit and recent Columbus call up Dennis Rasmussen (filling DL Rickey Henderson spot on the roster) for New York. As Detroit coming into the game have lost to New York have 3 straight but the The Tigers take control of the game and take an early 1-0 lead in the first inning scoring a RBI Double from Kurt Gibson knocking in Lou Whitaker (with 4 hits on the day) from third as Tigers starter Frank Tanana pitches a perfect first three inning with a lot of off speed pitches keeping the Yankee hitters off balance until a Don Mattingly single in 4th for the Yankee first hit of the game a solid single to center.
Lou Pinella brings in 5 pitchers in the game including Charles Hudson in the top of the 7th as he faces his first two batters and gives up Back to Back HRs from Darrell Evans and Chet Lemon which puts the Tigers ahead for good 10-1 as Hudson throws the next pitch behind Mike Heath as HP Umpire- Ken Kaiser ejects Hudson, as Lou Piniella gets into a shouting match between him and Kaiser as the game has become a blow out and Piniella with the short fuse takes it out on Keiser but it was clearly obvious Hudson was intentional a lame effort missed brush back pitch
The original recorded Betamax tape ran out and the remaining btm 9th inning was never recored
